ONE Championship Returns Home!

On May 18, 2018 One Championship returns home to electrify the Singapore Indoor Stadium once again and this is the first time ever that One Championship holds three world titled bouts in a single night.

Eduard Folayang is a Filipino mixed martial artist and a Wushu practitioner  and will be fighting for the Lightweight championship against  Kharun Atlangeriev from Russia.

 

Folayang is a member of Team Lakay Wushu  in Baguio City. And at the age of 16 he started his training for Wushu under the name of Tony Candelaria a  head coach who helped him work and improve his skills and discipline.

He was a high school teacher in Mt. Province before he joined Mixed Martial Arts. He made his Martial Combat debut on June 17, 2010 defeating Slovakian fighter Egon Racz via guillotine choke early in the first round.

He also joined several International Wushu Competition wherein he won several awards like, a gold medal at the 2011 South East Asian Games with a spinning back kick KO in the finals, a silver medal in the 2006 Doha Asian Games, and bronze medals in 2005 World Wushu Championship and 2002 the Busan Asian Gaames.

The Baguio native fought undefeated welterweight champion Allan Co and defeated him by TKO in round 1. With the win, Folayang became the new title holder.

The Baguio native defeated Felipe Enomoto via unanimous decision on July 18, 2012 at ONE Fighting Championship: Pride of a Nation held in SM Mall of  Asia Arena in Pasay City Philippines.

In his next fight, Folayang faced former ONE FC lightweight champion Kotetsu Boku on May 2, 2014 at ONE FC: Rise of Heroes. He again won by unanimous decision.

The One Unstoppable Dream will be headlined by the greatest rematch in women’s martial arts history, as Angela Lee  ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion and Japanese Mei Yamaguchi revisit the site of their internationally-acclaimed Bout of the Year effort in 2016.

Also Martin Nguyen will defend his featherweight crown against Christian Lee, while Sam-A Gaiyanghadao the multiple Muay Thai World Champion meets Sergio Wielzen the Lion Fight Lightweight World Champion for the inaugural ONE Super Series Muay Thai Flyweight World Championship.
