February 10, 2021Jared Leto first appeared as the DC supervillain Joker, nearly five years ago, in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. And now, Leto will again play the ever iconic role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
The first look at Jared Leto’s Joker in Zack Snyder’s Justice League was unveiled by Vanity Fair and was later on also showcased by the DC Entertainment as well. The new Joker completely looked different compared to the previous one played by Leto. The first set of photos of the new Clown Prince appear to be undeniably eerie.
According to DC Entertainment, when Snyder shot the movie several years ago, the Justice League’s new Joker was not originally something he had envisioned for the film.
However, it was told that it “came to him when he learned he’d be able to release his director’s cut of the film.”
“The Joker is really the only thing that I thought of in retrospect. But I will say that it was always my intention to bring Joker into that world,” Snyder shared.
Spoiler Alert! Scene with Zack Snyder’s Justice League’s Joker
Want to know more about Zack Snyder’s Justice League’s Clown Prince? Well, the Vanity Fair has also dropped a bit of spoiler along the unveiling of the new Joker’s first look. So if you wouldn’t mind a consuming a little spoiler, you may keep on reading.
“Joker appears in the new film during a sequence set on a ruined Earth after the alien tyrant Darkseid invades and decimates the planet. It’s a dream sequence, a psychic vision, experienced by Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne that reveals what will happen if the superheroes fail to stop the onslaught. Joker is sort of the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come, supplying motivation through terror.”

Snyder said that the cool thing about the scene is that “it’s Joker talking directly to Batman about Batman.”
“It’s Joker analyzing Batman about who he is and what he is. That’s the thing I also felt like fans deserved from the DC Universe,” Snyder explained.
“That is to say, the Jared Leto Joker and the Ben Affleck Batman, they never really got together. It seemed uncool to me that we would make it all the way through this incarnation of Batman and Joker without seeing them come together,” he added.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is debuting on March 18th on HBO Max.
